The Milwaukee Bucks seized a chance to bring home a player with a promising pedigree.
On Thursday, Johnny Davis signed a contract with the Bucks, according to Michael Scotto.
Davis was once the No. 10 overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft by the Washington Wizards.
He's originally from La Crosse, Wisconsin and played his college basketball for the University of Wisconsin Badgers.
After two seasons at Wisconsin, Davis went 10th to the Wizards, but he never lived up to the hype.
He was traded to the Memphis Grizzlies midway through his third season with Washington, but was then released after just a couple weeks without actually getting into a game for the Grizzlies.

Davis closed out the 2024-25 season playing for the Westchester Knicks in the G League.
With the Wizards, Davis averaged 3.5 points and 1.6 rebounds across 112 career games. He only shot 39.7% from the field and 27.3% from 3-point range.
This hasn't been announced as such but is almost certainly an Exhibit 10 contract. That would mean the Bucks will waive Davis in a day or so, then send him to their G League team, the Wisconsin Herd.
If Davis is going to still make it in the NBA, he's got a lot of work to do. He'll try to do it while playing close to home.
