Bucks rewarded a once undrafted gem with a new $45 million contract image

A.J. Green was already one of the coolest stories in the NBA.

Now the Milwaukee Bucks' sharpshooter has the contract to prove it.

On Thursday, the Bucks signed Green to a four-year extension worth $45 million, according to ESPN's Shams Charania.

Green was an undrafted player in 2022.

Now, he's a crucial piece to a playoff team who will earn eight figures per year.

Green was a star at Northern Iowa, but that's not exactly a school that produces NBA stars.

He didn't break through right away. Through his first two seasons, Green averaged about 10 minutes per game.

But this past season, Green played 22.7 minutes per game.

In that time, he averaged 7.4 points per game with 2.4 rebounds and 1.5 assists

Most notably, Green shot a career-high 42.7% from 3-point range.

Green has shot better than 40% from 3 in all three of his NBA seasons.

His shooting stroke will be crucial this season after the departure of Damian Lillard. And it's too smooth to expect anything less than a lot more makes.
