Bucks eyeing Bradley Beal amid buyout buzz image

The Milwaukee Bucks have been busy this offseason, and now they may get the chance to add another impact player alongside Giannis Antetokounmpo and newly signed center Myles Turner.

The Bucks signed Turner to a four-year, $107 million contract and waived Damian Lillard, stretching the remaining $113 million on his contract over five years to create cap space. They also re-signed several key rotation players, including Bobby Portis, Taurean Prince, Kevin Porter Jr. and Gary Trent Jr.

According to Fred Katz of The Athletic, the Phoenix Suns are expected to pursue a similar move with Bradley Beal, who is reportedly on Milwaukee’s radar should he hit the open market. While there appears to be mutual interest, Beal would have to accept a significant pay cut to join Milwaukee.

“The Bucks have already used up their exceptions and could offer only a minimum contract,” Katz wrote.

However, Beal is expected to receive a sizable buyout from Phoenix, which could lessen financial concerns. The chance to play alongside Antetokounmpo on a playoff-caliber team may be appealing, offering Beal the opportunity to revitalize his career while helping the Bucks return to title contention.

While the Los Angeles Lakers, Los Angeles Clippers and Golden State Warriors are reportedly among the teams on Beal’s shortlist, the Bucks remain in the mix. If Beal decides to join Milwaukee in a wide-open Eastern Conference, he could take on a meaningful role after missing the playoffs with the Suns in 2024-25.

Though the veteran guard’s stint with the Suns didn’t go as planned, he remained efficient, shooting 50.5 percent from the field and 40.7 percent from three-point range over the past two seasons.

In 53 regular-season appearances (38 starts) in 2024-25, Beal averaged 17.0 points, 3.7 assists, 3.3 rebounds, 1.9 three-pointers and 1.1 steals across 32.1 minutes per game.
