The Memphis Grizzlies are reportedly focused on trading star point guard Ja Morant before the NBA's Feb. 5 trade deadline.

Several guard-needy teams have been linked with Morant, but the Miami Heat seem to be the most concrete option for the two-time All-Star as his time in Memphis draws to a close.

And Morant himself seems to be preparing for a new life in Miami.

Miami-Dade County Clerk records show that Morant three weeks ago purchased a $3.2 million home in Miami three weeks ago, before the first reports surfaced of the Grizzlies' intent to trade him.

While many NBA players own homes in Miami, Los Angeles or other cities without playing for their local teams, Morant's recent purchase makes his reported desire to play for the Heat all the more logical.

Morant is averaging 19.0 points, 7.6 assists and 3.2 rebounds per game in his seventh NBA season. He has two seasons remaining on his contract after this one, and the Heat may well be paying out the $89 million in salary he's owed for 2026-27 and 2027-28.
