The Miami Heat has been a franchise that has swung and missed on trade candidates in 2025, but there is some light at the end of the tunnel.
This past offseason's sweepstakes for future Hall of Famer Kevin Durant didn't go as planned after losing it to the Houston Rockets, and a potential deal to land now Portland Trail Blazers Damian Lillard was missed out on as well.
However, the Heat have continued to pursue Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo in a potential deal.

Heat get closer to a trade for Bucks' Giannis Antetokounmpo
In a recent report from Marc Stein of the Stein Line, the insider explained that trade suitors for Giannis Antetokounmpo are narrowing down.
"There is a growing belief among trade-trackers that San Antonio & Houston, like Oklahoma City, do not plan to join the chase for Giannis even if the Bucks do consider in-season proposals for their two-time MVP. All three teams, as you can imagine, like what they have going," Stein wrote.
With those three teams listed having more to offer than the Miami, they would have most likely beaten out the Heat in any trade competition for Antetokounmpo.
With those teams now out of the sweepstakes, Miami has a better chance of landing the power forward.
Antetokounmpo has shown interest in a move to Miami, as the Heat may have a better chance of winning an NBA championship.
The Heat have the assets that are necessary in getting a deal done. It's just a matter of the two teams coming to an agreement on a deal.
If a blockbuster like this goes through, it could be the talk of the season. Something similar to the Luka Doncic to the Los Angeles Lakers deal that took place back in February.
