The Miami Heat will be active at the trade deadline once again this season. Always in the market for star talent, some believe the Heat should be ultra-aggressive this time around.
Notably, the Heat have been linked to Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo, but they’ve also been linked to star guard for the Memphis Grizzlies Ja Morant.
Former Heat point guard Jason Williams recently came up with a hot take about the Heat’s motives at the deadline. Instead of ending up with one of Antetokounmpo or Morant, he believes they’ll end up landing both premier players.
“I think [Antetokounmpo] and Ja Morant are going to end up in Miami,” Williams said. “I’m not sure how it works, Pat Riley gets it done.”
The Heat do have the assets needed to work out a trade for a star, whether or not they have enough to do so for two stars remains to be seen.
Of course, after years of star players teasing a Miami landing spot, the team ending up with two star talents at one trade deadline sounds too good to be true. While nothing seems imminent currently, if Miami could somehow pull off a trade for both stars, it would vault them to the upper echelon of the Eastern Conference almost immediately.
