The Miami Heat could be getting back two of their most important players sooner rather than later.
Per Ira Winderman of the Sun Sentinel, Bam Adebayo, and Tyler Herro — who are both currently on the shelf with injuries — are traveling with the team on their road trip to New York on Thursday. Other than that, there isn’t much of a status update, but it’s a good sign that their return could be nearing.
Herro has been out for the entire season so far while he recovers from ankle surgery that he had over the offseason. He was the Heat’s leading scorer last season, averaging 23.9 points per game and becoming a first-time All-Star in the process.
As for Adebayo, he suffered a toe injury last week against the Denver Nuggets, and has been out for the team’s last four games. He is averaging 19.9 points, and 8.1 rebounds on the season.
Despite missing their key players, the Heat are still 7-5 through the first 12 games, a record that will only improve if they get their star power back on the court as soon as possible.
