After making the monumental Desmond Bane trade, everyone is curious about what the next Memphis Grizzlies news and rumors will be. The team is certainly not done making moves. Memphis is building a new team around Ja Morant and Jaren Jackson Jr, and who knows what other Grizzlies could be on the move. This Grizzlies trade idea lands the Grizzlies even more young talent and future flexibility.
The Grizzlies trade idea from @BallReportX on Twitter is as follows:
Golden State Warriors Receive: Santi Aldama (Sign and trade, 3 years $ 37.8 million)
Grizzlies Receive: Dariq Whitehead, Keon Johnson, and a 2026 FRP swap via GS
Brooklyn Nets Receive: Moses Moody
This trade could provide a lot of value for the Grizzlies.
While Aldama averaged 12.5 points, 6.4 rebounds, and 2.9 assists last season, he continues to be an issue on the defensive end. After the Desmond Bane trade, the Grizzlies could be looking to build a stronger, more athletic defense without players like Aldama.
Additionally, Aldama is a restricted free agent this summer. That means they are at risk of losing him to a big offer from another team.
If Aldama is already out the door, and they want to recoup some value, this could be the perfect trade. Keon Johnson is a 22-year-old who had career highs across the board for the Nets last season. He could pick up some of the ball-handling duties Bane left behind. The Grizzlies also have an amazing track record of developing young athletic guards just like him.
Whitehead and the first-round pick swap are more fliers, but why not? If Aldama is going to leave, or if his contract gets too expensive, this could be a great trade idea for the Grizzlies.

It gets them more athletic, younger, and gives them even more assets and flexibility for more moves. If Aldama is gone, don’t let him leave for nothing.
