NBA social media has always had a unique way of fooling the general public. Whether it’s fans online or analysts on your favorite morning talk show, there’s never a shortage of posts that end up cementing themselves in basketball meme culture.

The latest example came from a Facebook post by Scrooge TV — a meme account notorious for misleading its audience — claiming that LeBron James would be hosting Michael Jordan on the next episode of his Mind the Game podcast.

So far, the post has generated over 15,000 interactions, 2,400 comments, and 3,200 shares.

The image used features James leaning back in his chair, paired with a photoshopped cutout of Jordan from his interview with NBC Sports’ Mike Tirico, part of the ongoing “MJ: Insights to Excellence” segment airing throughout the regular season.

Naturally, fans ran in several different directions with their reactions. Some praised the idea of the two legends collaborating, while others criticized the notion — despite it being entirely fabricated.

“Won’t be the same without Kobe. Imagine all 3 — it would break the internet,” one user, Contro Versay, commented.

“Guarantee you they will talk about all-time greats and both will mention each other or something of the sort… Then you will still hear people say things like ‘Don’t ever mention LeBron James in the same sentence as Michael Jordan,’” Jeremie Dentel added.

James and Jordan have rarely — if ever — sat down together in a one-on-one interview. Both are widely regarded as the greatest basketball players of all time, and the GOAT debate surrounding them continues to dominate the NBA discourse. Their legacies stand among the strongest in league history, each defined by era-shaping achievements and unmatched longevity or dominance.

As entertaining as the viral post may be, fans will have to wait a while longer before they see LeBron James and Michael Jordan sit across from each other for a real interview.
