There are several ways the Los Angeles Lakers can improve during the offseason, and some of these improvements may occur internally.

Most importantly, the Lakers need Luka Doncic to be the player he was expected to be when they traded for him, and perhaps more.

Doncic, clearly one of the best scorers in the world, wasn't up to his standards in Los Angeles.

Whether it was due to being traded in the middle of the season in a shocking move or his conditioning being a problem, some viewed the conditioning aspect as the biggest concern.

However, Doncic is already starting to work out in the offseason, and according to reports, has completely changed his diet and workout structure. When seen at a Real Madrid basketball game, he looked great, something that pleased Lakers fans.

And according to a recent report from Sportklub, that's a reflection of what Doncic has done in the early stages of the offseason.

“In the first phase of the long period between the seasons, Dončić, now without basketball, dedicated himself to transforming his body in Ljubljana, which includes both guided indoor conditioning and a modified diet. The first physical results are already very clearly visible, and the measurement results are also encouraging, but the time for real answers will come under the basket,” they wrote.

It’s a promising sign that Doncic is taking everything seriously off the court.

For a player who has an opportunity to be the best in the world and win multiple championships in Los Angeles, it's what needs to happen.

Hopefully, it'll all go well, and the superstar will be back on the floor looking better than ever in 2025-2026.
