Coming into Monday night's game against the Chicago Bulls, the Los Angeles Lakers had been riding momentum, having won three of their last four games.
Luka Doncic kept that momentum going for the Lakers as he lifted Los Angeles to a 129-118 road victory. Doncic finished with a double-double, posting 46 points, 12 assists and seven rebounds while shooting 8-for-14 from three-point range.
LeBron James added 24, five rebounds and three assists. Rui Hachimura excelled off the bench, scoring 23 points on 9-for-11 shooting. Marcus Smart was the only other Laker in double-figures with 12.
That said, the headlines were once again all about Doncic. With the 46 points and 12 assists, Doncic became the second player in Los Angels Lakers' franchise history to score 45 or more with 10 or more assists in multiple games. The first being 14-year Laker and NBA Hall of Famer Elgin Baylor.
This continues another impressive season for Doncic, who is getting it done in his first full year with the Lakers. Doncic is currently leading the league in scoring (33.4 PPG) and is one of just two players to be averaging 30 points or more, along with last year's MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.
Doncic is also top-three in the league in assists, averaging 8.7 per game which trails only Josh Giddey and Cade Cunningham.
Doncic and the Lakers will continue their current eight-game road trip Wednesday as they head to Cleveland to take on the Cavaliers.
