The basketball social media world was set ablaze yesterday when Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James teased a second "Decision" on his social media accounts. People couldn't stop speculating on what it could be.
Was he going to announce his retirement plans ahead of the 2025-26 season? Could he request a trade from the Lakers?
As it turns out, it was all just a promotional stunt with Hennessy, the cognac brand that has teamed up with James in the past.
LeBron James announces Hennessy promotional campaign
In the video now posted to social media, James is riffing on the now classic 2010 TV program where he announced his departure from the Cleveland Cavaliers and signed with the Miami Heat in NBA free agency.
"The Decision has been made. Cheers to year 23," wrote Hennessy on X.

It all feels just a bit anticlimactic.
While James caught flak for the spectacle at the time, it dominated the media cycle and was the most-watched television program the night it aired.
That must be why LeBron and Hennessy chose to rehash some memories from "The Decision" and garner excitement for what ended up being a commercial for the alcoholic beverage.
This is James' second team-up with the brand, having released a limited edition themed bottle last Fall with his likeness draped over the bottle.
While LeBron doesn't appear to be calling it a career anytime soon, the speculation over the last 24 hours has made it clear the intrigue surrounding him is as large as ever.
