The Los Angeles Lakers are never going to stand back. As the dust settles from the huge Kevin Durant trade, the Lakers need to find a way to continue to stay competitive in the insanely talented Western Conference. One Lakers trade idea could bring them another superstar to pair with Luka Dončić and LeBron James.
Twitter user @LakersBetter proposed one Lakers trade that would turn the league on its head.
Lakers trade: Austin Reaves, Jarred Vanderbilt, Gabe Vincent, Maxi Kleber, Dalton Knecht, 2025 2nd-Round pick, and a 2031 1st-Round pick
Phoenix Suns trade: Devin Booker
This would be an insane trade if it ever happened. Unfortunately for Lakers fans, it won’t.
Right now, the Phoenix Suns have indicated that, despite the Durant trade, they aren’t pivoting towards a rebuild. They want to build a team around Booker, not get rid of him.
Additionally, this is a terrible return for Booker. The Suns wouldn’t get any young stars, and only one 1st-Round draft pick. If the Suns do decide to move on from Booker, there would probably be 20 offers from other teams that would be better than this one.
So, unfortunately for Lakers fans, Booker isn’t coming. Luka and LeBron might get a little help on the trade market, but the Lakers are too hamstrung by the new salary cap rules to land a star like Booker.

They also have almost no draft picks available to trade. The Lakers are going to have to get better within and from minor free agency moves. They aren’t going to be able to trade for a superstar like Booker.
