The Los Angeles Lakers continue to be mentioned in trade discussions ahead of February's deadline, and a new name has emerged as a Lakers target.

The Lakers are monitoring Golden State Warriors forward Jonathan Kuminga, per The Stein Line's Jake Fischer.

"One other team to at least mention here: The Lakers," Fischer said. "The purple-and-gold's known preference at this deadline is to acquire a true 3-and-D wing with size if possible to provide some point-of-attack resistance on the perimeter as well as some shooting."

The Warriors are searching for a trade partner for Kuminga, who's been out of Warriors head coach Steve Kerr's rotation this season. He hasn't appeared in a game since Dec. 18. According to Fischer, the Lakers had interest in him last offseason.

"The Lakers, according to sources, did call Golden State about Kuminga during the sides' summer standoff in restricted free agency. I’m told that the Lakers have likewise continued to monitor Kuminga’s situation while casting a wide net to try to find help on a very limited wing market."

Kuminga is averaging 11.8 points, 6.2 rebounds and shooting 43.1% from the field. He's making $22.5 million this season and is reportedly eyeing a long-term extension.

The Lakers are searching for forward depth this trade season to help the team's struggling defense. Other names to monitor include Trey Murphy III, Herb Jones and Keon Ellis.

LA (23-13) is fifth in the Western Conference ahead of Monday night's game against the Sacramento Kings. They've lost six of their past 10 games.
