The Los Angeles Lakers have several concerning issues heading into the second half of the 2025-26 season.

In addition to being one of the worst defensive teams in the league, the Lakers’ perimeter shooting woes (34.3% three-point shooting) have hindered their ability to reach their full offensive potential.

In an attempt to improve their production from long-range, Lake Show Life’s Maxwell Ogden believes Los Angeles should reunite with a 6-foot-5 guard who was involved in last year’s historic Luka Doncic trade.

“Lakers must capitalize on report that Max Christie is available in trade,” Ogden wrote Monday. “Christie has turned in an excellent 2025-26 season despite the Mavericks' general inconsistency.”

“He's currently averaging 12.3 points, 3.4 rebounds, 2.1 assists, and 2.4 three-point field goals made in 28.6 minutes per game, shooting at a tremendous clip of.493/.466/.850.”

“A knockdown shooter who flashed that very potential at 37.3 percent from beyond the arc between two-and-a-half seasons with the Lakers, Christie could resolve a pressing offensive issue.”

Christie was an underrated contributor with the Lakers before the organization featured him in the most shocking trade the NBA has ever seen.

Christie, known for his reliable catch-and-shoot contributions, averaged 8.5 points per game on 44.4% shooting from the field and 36.8% from three-point range during his final 46 games with the Lakers.

Considering Christie is currently enjoying the most productive season of his career, the Lakers would be wise to add him to their list of trade targets moving forward.
