The Los Angeles Lakers have very limited options this offseason. Due to the new salary cap restrictions, they will be very limited in the trade market. They also have limited draft picks over the next few seasons. That’s why this 2025 Lakers draft pick could be crucial.

With LeBron James retiring soon and the team moving into the hands of Luka Dončić, the team could use some more young talent to develop. Still, they don’t want to draft players who are too raw and can’t help the team now.

ESPN’s draft experts, Jonathan Givony and Jeremy Woo just released their most updated 2025 NBA Mock Draft.

ESPN predicted that the Lakers would draft Hunter Sallis with the 55th overall pick.

Sallis is a senior shooting guard from Wake Forest. Sallis is already a polished scorer with a track record of being an efficient three-level scorer.

While still needing some improvement with his shooting and defensive effort, he could be a solid combo guard to come off the bench for the Lakers.

Instead of opting for a project like Bronny James, this Lakers draft pick prediction would give the team a prospect who is a bit more proven. Sallis averaged 18.3 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 2.8 assists in his senior year at Wake Forest.

If the Lakers draft Hallis, his upside is intriguing. For the 55th pick in the draft, the Lakers could go for more of a flier, but getting a proven scorer like Hallis would show that they are looking for players who can help the team win now.
