If there’s one contributor the Los Angeles Lakers can depend on nightly, it’s their superstar point guard, Luka Doncic.

The former Dallas Mavericks phenom has been the Lakers’ best player all season long, and that trend continued on Monday night against the Chicago Bulls. Doncic erupted for 46 points, 12 assists, and seven rebounds vs. Chicago, resulting in an impressive 129-118 victory.

Doncic, who made history against the Mavericks on Saturday (he’s averaging 33.0 points per game vs. The Mavericks, which is the most points per game for a player vs. His former team), achieved another historic feat during his latest outing.

“Luka Doncic is the fastest point guard in NBA history to reach 20 career 45-point games,” Polymarket Hoops wrote on X/Twitter after the Lakers' double-digit road victory.

Doncic has an MVP case worth exploring. The six-time All-Star entered the year with colossal expectations as the Lakers' No. 1 scoring option and has delivered while keeping Los Angeles in the playoff mix.

Doncic is averaging 33.4 points, 8.7 assists, and 7.8 rebounds on 46.7% field goal shooting and 33.4% field goal shooting on a Lakers squad that possesses the No. 5 seed in the Western Conference.

Although the Lakers are a flawed playoff contender in every way, shape, and form, Doncic’s MVP resume is undoubtedly impressive, and it’ll only improve as the season progresses.
