Every year, players go down with injuries.

Some injuries keep players out for an extended period of time, while others take a few days to recover from.

Others may ruin your whole career, and come back over and over.

For this former Los Angeles Lakers center, he has had quite the history with getting hurt, so much so that it was enough for Lake Show Life’s Will Eudy to predict that he would retire.

“As fans look around at past Lakers players that still haven't been signed to a team, Christian Wood is one name that jumps off the page. Is there any possibility he could retire?” Eudy said on Tuesday.

“One variable that seems to be affecting Wood's situation is the issue of health and durability.”

“It's also a matter of Christian's situation relative to the position he plays. For a big man who is about to turn 30 years old with a less-than-clean injury history, it's going to be tough for other teams to feel comfortable making a financial commitment to him.”

Christian Wood received two surgeries on his left knee in 2024, which may have been the final straw for the six-foot-eight stretch center.

During his eight-year career, Wood played for seven different teams.

His best years were the two he spent with the Houston Rockets, where he averaged 21 and 17.9 points per game.

He thrived alongside Luka Dončić with the Dallas Mavericks, but when the Lakers signed him, he was never the same.

It would be a shame if injuries forced Wood to retire, but right now, he may not want to risk getting hurt again.
