Myles Turner was one of the big free agent names going into the 2025 offseason.
Now that he's off the board after signing with Milwaukee, opportunities have opened up elsewhere.
One NBA insider revealed why the Turner signing could have implications for the Lakers.

Deandre Ayton gets major Lakers update after stunning Myles Turner news
ESPN's Brian Windhorst made a great point on First Take this morning.
Since the Bucks and Lakers were two of the teams competing to sign the now free agent Deandre Ayton, the Lakers have less competition when it comes to signing Ayton.
The Bucks have their franchise center that replaced Brook Lopez after he left, so it might be fair game now for the Lakers.
"This has Lakers ramifications because the Lakers were competing with the Bucks for Deandre Ayton, so this leaves Deandre Ayton to go to the Lakers to be their starting center as a possible ramification of this," Windhorst said.

Los Angeles has been looking to add a quality center for years, especially after Anthony Davis was traded away.
Whether or not Ayton is the best option, he is still a serviceable player who hasn't been this available for the Lakers in quite some time.
In the 2024-25 NBA season, Ayton averaged 14.4 points and 10.2 rebounds per game.
