The Los Angeles Clippers and Kawhi Leonard find themselves in a tough spot.
Reports have indicated that the Clippers may have circumvented salary cap rules when they pursued Leonard in free agency after his championship with the Toronto Raptors.
There haven't been any conclusions from the league or the team yet, but that hasn't stopped rumors from circulating.
One rumor just starting to go viral on social media suggests that the Clippers have "parted ways" with Leonard.
Did the Clippers cut ties with Kawhi Leonard?
No, as of Sept. 17, the Clippers haven't gotten rid of Kawhi Leonard.
He's still under contract in L.A.
The main thing making people think this is the parody account on X, NBA Centel, which posted this:
BREAKING: The Clippers have parted ways with Kawhi Leonard, per @WindhostESPN pic.twitter.com/E7tFSeMfPX

That's an account meant to mimic a real newsmaker. It even uses a fake version of ESPN's Brian Windhorst as its credit.
There's surely more to come in the Leonard saga. But for now, he's still with the Clippers.
