The Los Angeles Clippers decided to create one of the oldest teams in NBA history this offseason.
Pair that with the injury bug most of their players deal with, and they could be one of the most disappointing teams in the league.
To add to that, Yahoo Sports' Tom Haberstroh believes they should go all in and trade for an injury-riddled superstar.
“If you’re able to stomach the injury-riddled Leonard, why not double down?” Haberstroh said Tuesday.
“It might be challenging to persuade a team to take on the three years remaining on (Zion) Williamson’s contract, though he does have a unique contract structure that doesn’t fully guarantee his salary unless he hits benchmarks regarding games played and his weight.”
In this hypothetical, Haberstroh believes that the Clippers should capitalize on still having their draft picks, in case the Kawhi Leonard situation blows up in their face, causing them to lose their draft capital.

They already added Bradley Beal and Chris Paul, but if Zion Williamson were to be obtained, the most important acquisition would then be Brook Lopez.
Lopez being able to stretch the floor is what allows Williamson to work, so Ivica Zubac doesn’t crowd the floor alongside him.
The New Orleans Pelicans drafted Derick Queen and have second-year player Yves Missi, so their frontcourt wouldn’t take a hit.
The pick and roll of James Harden and Williamson in itself would be enough for the Clippers to sell out the Intuit Dome.
If they are willing to take on another injury-prone star in hopes that the stars align for them to be healthy one season together, Zion is the guy.
