Prior to being acquired by the Houston Rockets in a historic seven-team trade, Kevin Durant’s tenure with the Phoenix Suns ended uneventfully.
The 15-time All-Star missed the final seven games of the season due to a left ankle sprain, and the Suns ultimately missed the postseason, recording an 11th-place finish in a stacked Western Conference. Durant was eventually traded to Houston for Jalen Green, Dillon Brooks, the No. 10 overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft and five second-round picks in the seven-team deal.
Now, Durant is ready to move on and help the Rockets win their first title since 1995. Still, not all fans have moved on from Durant’s departure.

Durant responds to fan’s “rage bait”
A fan on X recently called Durant a “locker room cancer” in response to Devin Booker’s quote about the Suns’ connectivity issues last season, in which Booker said, “I felt last year, we weren’t as connected.”
Durant was quick to call the fan out and dismissed him with two words: “Rage bait.” The superstar has never shied away from confrontation on social media, and he’s been known to have spirited discussions with fans. However, he kept his response short this time around.

While connectivity may have been an issue, Durant’s production wasn’t. He shot 52.7 percent from the field and 43.0 percent from three-point range, averaging 26.6 points, 6.0 rebounds, 4.2 assists and 1.2 blocks across 36.5 minutes per game in 62 regular-season games.
Entering his age-37 season, the superstar will look to lead the Rockets to success while providing veteran leadership for the team’s rising stars.
