Seth Curry has been on the outside looking in to begin his Golden State Warriors tenure.

The brother of 11-time All-Star Stephen Curry was considered a wise addition at the beginning of the month, given his perimeter shooting longevity. However, he hasn’t received the minutes he likely hoped for thus far.

Curry has only competed in two contests with the Dubs since joining the storied organization on Dec. 1, which could be a sign that the 35-year-old isn’t a contributor that Steve Kerr deems a regular rotational piece.

While Curry has dealt with a few nagging injuries, he’s been active for most of the Warriors’ recent contests. It’s as simple as Kerr not feeling comfortable giving the former Philadelphia 76ers guard a more significant role on his struggling Western Conference squad.

After Curry’s DNP vs. The Minnesota Timberwolves on Friday, Kerr explained why the Warriors’ early-December signee didn’t see the floor in the contest.

“It’s not easy to just throw guys in there randomly after they haven’t been in the rotation in the first three-quarters. He’s definitely going to help us at times, but this wasn’t his night, and we went in another direction.”

Curry didn’t log a minute against the Portland Trail Blazers on Sunday night, either, which is starting to turn into a regular occurrence for the Duke product.

While it’s still early, it isn’t a good sign that an established veteran like Curry is struggling to find playing time on a team that could unquestionably benefit from his long-range shooting services.
