The Golden State Warriors don’t have much time to recover from their devastating 141-127 overtime loss to the Toronto Raptors on Sunday.
The 16-16 Dubs must turn around and face the improving Brooklyn Nets on Monday night. Unfortunately, the Warriors must attempt to win their 17th game of the season without their sharpshooting second-unit guard, Seth Curry.
Why Seth Curry isn’t playing for the Warriors tonight vs. The Nets with troubling injury news
While some of Curry’s DNPs have been Steve Kerr’s decision, the former Philadelphia 76ers guard has been dealing with a concerning injury lately that has forced him to miss multiple contests.
The Warriors detailed Curry’s setback before their upcoming clash against the Nets.
“Warriors guard Seth Curry, who has been inactive for the last three games due to injury, recently underwent MRIs on his lower back and pelvis,” the Warriors announced Sunday. “The MRIs confirmed that Curry’s injury is sciatic nerve-related. He will be re-evaluated in two weeks.”
Curry is dealing with the same injury that kept Los Angeles Lakers star forward LeBron James out of the first 14 games of the 2025-26 season. Sciatica is clearly nothing to play around with, and if the Warriors are wise, they’ll take the same cautious approach the Lakers took when James was diagnosed with the injury.
Curry, who’s averaging 7.0 points per game on 66.7% field goal shooting and 50.0% three-point shooting, will be sorely missed on the hardwood.
