The Golden State Warriors have an opportunity to continue their dynastic run in 2025-26. The franchise's superstar trio of Stephen Curry, Draymond Green and Jimmy Butler, along with legendary head coach Steve Kerr, believe that they can compete for another championship.

While Golden State has a true case for dark-horse contention in a stacked Western Conference, the aging group realizes that their future opportunities to chase titles are numbered.

This goes for both the players and the coaching staff, as Kerr recently shared that he will not be seeking a contract extension with the Warriors past this season unless he and the franchise wish to keep their relationship going.

When posited with the idea of playing under another coach in the future, Golden State's 4-time NBA champion Curry shared his feelings on the matter with ESPN's Anthony Slater.

"I don't want to," Curry told Slater on Friday morning.

"We deserve that, I feel."

"Things change in this league. We can only control so much. But I think we're in a very unique situation that we deserve the opportunity (to ride it out)."

After leading the Warriors to four NBA title wins in 10 seasons with the franchise, the 60-year-old Kerr believes that the only way his career continues is if his heart is still in it, and if Curry and Co. wish to keep him around.

The former 15-year NBA veteran and the league's all-time leader in career three-point percentage (45.4%) has previously cited passion as the key ingredient with regard to extending his career as the Warriors' lead strategist, and the expiration of his current deal with the team could mark the end of an era if he determines that it's time to ride off into the sunset.

As for Curry, the 37-year-old future Hall of Famer and one of the greatest point guards to ever play the game is still at the peak of his powers.

Kerr has had a front row seat to witness Curry come away with two NBA MVP awards and the 2022 NBA Finals MVP award throughout their time together, and the latter of the pair clearly expects for the franchise to offer an extension to the former to keep their partnership alive and well.
