Warriors' Stephen Curry passes Kevin Durant on special NBA all-time record leaderboard image

The Golden State Warriors needed a bounceback.

Even this deep into his career, Stephen Curry was the man for the job.

A night after an ugly loss to the Thunder, the Warriors defeated the San Antonio Spurs despite both Victor Wembanyama and Stephon Castle recording triple-doubles.

And it's because Steph was special.

Curry finished the night with 46 points.

He added five rebounds, five assists and two steals. And as feels par for the course, Curry drained five 3-pointers.

Most notable about the 46 points on this night: It pushed Curry past Kevin Durant on the all-time list for 40-point games.

It's the 73rd regular season game in Curry's career in which he has gotten to 40 points. That's the ninth-most 40-point games in NBA history, per ESPN.

Given that Durant is still active, he clearly could still get back with Curry on this list.

But at this point, Steph is still the focal point of Golden State's offense at all times, and Durant doesn't have to be that in Houston.

It's really kind of crazy that Steph has maintained this level for this long.

Don't take this for granted.
