How did Stephen Curry follow up a 49-point night?
By only scoring 46.
Again, the Golden State Warriors legend led his squad past the San Antonio Spurs. This time, it was in NBA Cup action on Friday night.
Both times in these consecutive games, the Dubs needed just about all of Curry's firepower to get past the Victor Wembanyama-led Spurs.
And this time, Curry tied a Michael Jordan NBA record.
MJ had stood alone previously for having scored at least 40 points in 44 different games after turning 30.
Curry has now also scored 40 points in 44 different games since turning 30.
That’s Steph Curry’s 44th game of 40+ points since his 30th birthday. Ties him with Michael Jordan for the most in NBA history after turning 30. Did it both nights in San Antonio. His first back-to-back 40-point games since 2022.

And for those keeping score at home, it's early in the season, and there's no indication this will be Curry's last season.
He could keep putting up 40-point games for a while.
It continues to be remarkable. Curry isn't supersized and can't jump out of the gym. He's just the greatest shooter in the history of the planet, with great movement skills, balance and handle. He gets where he wants and then doesn't miss.
And even as he ages, now 37 and counting, Curry keeps not missing. It'll likely be this way for a while longer, too.
