There is plenty of talent outside of the NBA, and much of it is presented in the EuroLeague.
Most recently, Germany took home gold with a team full of NBA-caliber players like Dennis Schröder, Franz Wagner, and Mo Wagner.
Germany also had a guy who used to play in the NBA and even suited up for the Los Angeles Lakers, and Sports Illustrated’s Liam Willerup believes the Golden State Warriors should attempt to sign him.
“That player is Isaac Bonga, a former Los Angeles Lakers guard/forward who has since gone overseas after playing four seasons in the NBA,” Willerup said Sunday.”
“Bonga, a 6-foot-8 forward, played for German club Bayern München in the Euroleague for two seasons before joining Serbian club Partizan Mozzart Bet.”
Isaac Bonga was also awarded the best defender in the 2025 Euro Basket.

Throughout the tournament, he averaged 9.9 points per game while shooting 53% from the field and an incredible 45% from three.
Currently, the Warriors are dealing with Jonathan Kuminga and his contract disputes, but bringing in Bonga could help solve that problem.
His four-year stint in the league did not go as planned, but he had plenty of hype built up around him.
His best year was with the Washington Wizards, where he averaged 5 points a game, starting in 49 of 66 games played.
As a 6’8 wing, Bonga handled the ball well, showing his ability to both create and score.
The Dubs could use a secondary creator alongside Stephen Curry, and Bonga has proven he can keep up with NBA talent.
