Every professional basketball career must come to an end at some point.

On Tuesday, a Golden State Warriors 2012 second-round pick (No. 52 overall) officially retired at age 35.

“Former Serbian national team center and NBA champion Ognjen Kuzmic has officially retired, as confirmed by his former club Crvena Zvezda,” EuroHoops' Nikola Miloradovic wrote Tuesday.

“Kuzmic (35) last played for FMP but ended the season prematurely after suffering an injury in February.”

After spending the first six years of his career with various overseas clubs, the Warriors took a chance on the Serbian big man late in the 2012 NBA draft.

While Kuzmic spent ample time with the franchise’s D-League affiliate (now known as the G-League), the Santa Cruz Warriors, he maximized the opportunity in front of him.

The 7-foot center won a D-League title and earned an All-Defensive Third Team selection in 2015.

More impressively, Kuzmic won a championship with the Warriors the same year, as the Stephen Curry-led organization defeated the injury-riddled Cleveland Cavaliers to capture their first ring since 1976.

Following the 2014-15 NBA campaign, Kuzmic competed with Panathinaikos (Greece), Crvena Zvezda (Serbia), and FMP (Serbia) before moving on from basketball in his mid-30s.

Kuzmic averaged 0.9 points and 1.0 rebounds during his short stint with the Warriors, shooting 52.0% from the field in 37 contests.

Kuzmic didn’t have the most eventful time in the big leagues, but he’ll always have the luxury of bragging about his 2015 championship with the Dubs.
