The Golden State Warriors are on the hunt for more talent. After the Jimmy Butler trade, they looked like one of the best teams in the NBA. Had they not suffered some unfortunate injuries, they might have been able to make a deep playoff run. Now, the Warriors trade rumors are buzzing about the team looking to upgrade its roster in an attempt to build a championship team around its core stars. One player who recently came up as a possible Warriors trade target was supposedly on the team’s radar during the trade deadline.
Utah Jazz insider, Andy Blarsen, recently reported that both the Warriors and Los Angeles Lakers showed interest in John Collins at the trade deadline.
The Warriors, who are still on the hunt for more talent, could still have Collins on their radar. Collins is an interesting potential Warriors trade target.
Collins would certainly bring some things to the Warriors roster that they desperately need. More offensive firepower, size, and rebounding.
Collins has never been known as a great defender, and has been on the NBA trade block for much of his career for various reasons.
That being said, is Golden State the perfect place for Collins’ career to take off?
He is still only 27 years old and had fairly impressive stats last season. He averaged 18.9 points and 8.2 rebounds per game on over 50% shooting from the field and 40% shooting from three.
That is some production that the Warriors could use. Trading for Collins could present a risk. He isn’t known as much of a winning team player, and his salary makes it so that the Warriors would have to trade some real pieces to get him.

Still, the offensive production and ability to rebound the ball are undeniable. If the Warriors believe that they could get Collins to buy in on the defensive end, a Warriors-John Collins trade could be a solid offseason option for Golden State.
