It's a notable day for the Golden State Warriors.

More correctly, it's a notable date. It's January 15, and that means Jonathan Kuminga can be traded.

Kuminga's restricted free agency signing with the Warriors, after a long impasse in the offseason, meant that he wouldn't be able to be dealt on his new contract until Jan. 15. And Thursday is that date.

Now, the NBA world waits to see what happens.

Kuminga has not played in a game for the Warriors since Dec. 18.

There was thought of him being moved in the offseason, but that didn't happen.

Then when this campaign got underway, Kuminga was starting and playing well for about a month.

But then, he started to fall out of the rotation, and he's now out of it entirely.

The Warriors may not get great value for him. Despite being a talented 23-year old, it's also clear Kuminga isn't wanted in the Bay Area, which doesn't put Golden State in a strong negotiating position.

There'll be someone out there who takes a chance on Kuminga's natural talent. There's still time for him to develop into a great player.

It just seems, more and more, like that won't happen with the Warriors, and now they can officially move on.
