The Golden State Warriors have just nine players under contract heading into next season, and have yet to make a singular move this offseason.
Jimmy Butler, Stephen Curry, and Draymond Green are getting older and won’t be able to win a championship without a decent supporting cast.
Bringing in another two-way wing, like Fansided’s Tyler Watts suggests, could prove to be the missing piece they need.
“The Golden State Warriors are rumored to be interested in Trey Murphy III, but it will take a significant trade package to get a deal done,” Watts said Tuesday.
“The 25-year-old would be an upgrade over Kuminga as he offers more shooting and defense. Golden State needs a third scorer behind Stephen Curry and Jimmy Butler. Murphy would be the ideal fit.”
Last season on the New Orleans Pelicans, Trey Murphy III took a massive leap, averaging 21.2 points per game and is a career 38% from three.

Murphy is a six-foot-eight wing with the ability to put the ball on the floor and has freakish athleticism, something the Warriors lack.
In a way, he resembles Butler with his tenacious defense and relentlessness on the offensive end.
The exact trade has the Warriors parting ways with Buddy Hield, Moses Moody, two first-round picks, and one swap.
Moody hasn’t blossomed into the player the Dubs once hoped, and Jonathan Kuminga is in no man's land as of now.
Murphy is still only 25 years old and could be the piece the Warriors hold onto long-term when Curry and the rest of the crew retire.
Bringing Murphy to Golden State could offer them new dynamic lineups and a secondary ball handler to keep the aggression on when Curry is off the floor.
