NBA pundit suggests Warriors' splash brothers reunion could be on horizon image

Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors couldn’t have asked for a better start to the season.

With a win against the Los Angeles Clippers Tuesday night, they start the season 4-1.

Everything seems to be clicking within the roster, and Curry and Jimmy Butler continue to be the stars of the team.

Of course, the supporting cast, like Draymond Green and Jonathan Kuminga, have done more than expected as well.

This appears to be a legitimate championship contender.

Now, if they want to complete the puzzle, Bleacher Report’s Andy Bailey has an idea that would leave all basketball fans with their jaws on the floor.

“If the Golden State Warriors coaching staff is just out on the idea of Jonathan Kuminga (and last season suggests it might be), swapping him for a helpful veteran would make sense,” Bailey said Tuesday.

“A Splash Brothers, especially one that includes the duo playing with Jimmy Butler, could be a blast. The age difference in the key players here might even get Golden State a pick out of this one.”

Bailey suggests that the Warriors acquire Klay Thompson and possibly a pick from the Dallas Mavericks in exchange for Kuminga.

Thompson certainly isn’t the companion of Curry that he used to be, but that doesn’t mean a reunion wouldn’t be amazing.

After the antics between the Warriors and Kuminga during the summer, it may be hard for the two to move on with a clear slate.

Swapping him for Thompson, an elite three-point shooter, could prove worthwhile.

During his time with the Warriors, Klay was a legend.

A four-time champion breaking three-point-related records every season.

He was the yin to Curry’s yang, and the two teaming up together for one last chance at a championship would be exciting.
