The Golden State Warriors haven’t made a single free agency signing yet. They supposedly are just waiting for the Jonathan Kuminga situation to be figured out, and then they will make moves to complete their roster. The current Warriors roster isn’t going to cut it.
Regardless of whether the Warriors can find a Kuminga trade partner, they will need to fill out their roster with proven veterans who can contribute now. Al Horford and De’Anthony Melton are both on the Warriors' free agent target list. However, even if they sign those two, the Warriors will have a couple of extra roster spots.
Jake Fischer of The Stein Line recently reported that one of those spots could go to a new Warriors free agent target. Former Rookie of the Year and Sixth Man of the Year winner Malcolm Brogdon is rumored to be on the Warriors' radar.
Brogdon is a solid backup point guard who, at his best, averaged over 20 points per game for the Pacers. Last season he averaged 12.7 points, 4.1 assists, and 3.8 rebounds per game.
The Warriors could certainly use a veteran like Brogdon to fill in behind Curry. Brandin Podziemski is looking more like a shooting guard, and while the Warriors have plenty of guards on the roster, they don’t have many point guards who can run an offense.

Brogdon could likely be signed on a veteran minimum contract. The fact that he won’t cost the Warriors much is important. Still, Brogdon should only be a fallback option if the rest of the Warriors' free agent targets aren’t signed. Brogdon just hasn’t been healthy enough during his career to be a reliable free agent signing.
