Warriors get unfortunate Anthony Davis trade update from insider image

The Golden State Warriors need frontcourt assistance in the worst way imaginable.

There’s a reason why the Dubs have returned to a small-ball starting lineup despite landing Al Horford in the offseason.

The three high-profile low-post upgrades that the Warriors have been linked to include Anthony Davis, Domantas Sabonis, and Lauri Markkanen.

However, Golden State received an unfortunate update on a potential trade for Davis on Wednesday.

"Davis would be the better fit for the Warriors if healthy,” the Stein Line's Jake Fischer wrote Wednesday. “But the 32-year-old is far from that description after missing 38 of his first 52 regular-season games since becoming a Maverick. So that would figure to give the Warriors pause in pursuing AD. “

Davis may have a more challenging trade season experience than he initially anticipated.

The recently acquired Dallas Mavericks big man always seems to suffer a concerning injury after a dominating stretch of basketball, potentially causing several franchises to turn their nose up at the idea of trading for the 32-year-old NBA champion.

The Warriors could still use Davis’ services despite his troubling injury history, as his ability to take control of games on both ends would help the organization recover from their slow start to the year.

Unfortunately, Fisher’s report suggests that Golden State won’t be able to look past Davis’ biggest flaw, which will likely eliminate the former Los Angeles Lakers star from the trade equation.
