Los Angeles Lakers forward LeBron James will be an unrestricted free agent this summer, and one Western Conference team is reportedly interested in him.

The Stein Line's Jake Fischer reported Thursday that the Golden State Warriors are a team to monitor for James this offseason. Fischer believes the Warriors' top target is Milwaukee Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo, but that they may opt to pursue James if Giannis stays with the Bucks.

"Sources say that the Warriors naturally do plan to feature prominently in the trade mix for Milwaukee's Antetokounmpo if he truly becomes available via trade this offseason while also exploring the prospect of teaming James with Stephen Curry," Fischer said.

James and Golden State have a long history with one another. They met in four consecutive NBA Finals from 2015-18 when James was with the Cleveland Cavaliers. The Warriors went 3-1 in those matchups, with LeBron defeating the Warriors in 2016.

James is averaging 22.5 points, six rebounds and seven assists this season. He is making $52.6 million this season as part of a two-year deal he signed with the Lakers before last season.

LeBron has had an impressive tenure with the Lakers. He led the franchise to an NBA Championship in 2020 and has made seven All-Star teams in LA.

Golden State would be his fourth different team if he signs with them this offseason. James, 41, was drafted by the Cavaliers and had two stints with the team (2003-10, '14-18). He also played for the Miami Heat (2010-14) and has been with the Lakers since 2018.
