With the NBA season getting closer to its start, the Golden State Warriors are continuing to wait on restricted free agent Jonathan Kuminga's decision on a new deal. Reports have said that previous sign-and-trade interest from teams has been shut down, and Kuminga will end up signing with the Warriors.

While Golden State works through the situation, the Warriors have yet to finalize any free-agent deals. But they reportedly have verbal agreements made by players like Al Horford, Gary Payton II, and De'Anthony Melton.

This being said, the Warriors will still have roster spots to fill for the upcoming season, and a new name has emerged as a new signee for Golden State.

Warriors show interest in free agent, former Suns forward Cody Martin

Malcolm Brogdon and Seth Curry, Stephen Curry's younger brother, have been mentioned as possible targets to fill out the roster. Both remain in play, but free agent forward Cody Martin has also emerged as an option.

"We've reported previously that Seth Curry and Malcolm Brogdon are candidates for a Warriors roster spot after Kuminga's situation is resolved," NBA insider Jake Fischer wrote. "Another name on the Warriors' list of bench targets, sources say, is Cody Martin."

Martin, 29, was traded to the Phoenix Suns last season after spending five and a half years with the Charlotte Hornets. The twin brother of the Dallas Mavericks' Caleb Martin, Cody, has been searching for a place to call home since becoming an unrestricted free agent this offseason.

In 53 combined games for the Hornets and Suns last season, Martin averaged 6.8 points, 4.2 rebounds, 2.0 assists, and 1.1 steals while shooting 41.8% from the field. Martin struggled to shoot from beyond the three-point line last season (28.5%), but he'd be a forward to add for depth behind players like Draymond Green, Jimmy Butler, Moses Moody, and eventually, Jonathan Kuminga.
