The Golden State Warriors fought hard throughout Wednesday night's game against the Houston Rockets, ultimately falling by a narrow margin of 104-100 in the NBA Cup.
The primary narrative surrounding the game centers on Stephen Curry's health. The four-time NBA champion departed the match with under a minute remaining, seemingly in considerable discomfort.
ClutchPoints’ Brett Siegel detailed the event that led to Curry’s apparent lower-body injury.
“Stephen Curry does not look good out there and is moving around very slow with a massive limp,” Siegel wrote on X/Twitter.
“He seemed to hurt what looks like his left leg while taking a charge from Amen Thompson, only for the call to be overturned several minutes ago.”
Despite Curry's efforts to play through the pain and complete the game, his physical condition prevented him from continuing, leaving the Warriors to try and secure a victory against Ime Udoka's team without their star player.
Following Siegel's tweet and the Warriors' narrow four-point defeat, Kenzo Fukuda, a colleague of Siegel's at ClutchPoints, stated that the Warriors are identifying their prominent point guard's issue as a right quad contusion and will wait for an MRI to verify.
Fingers crossed, the Davidson player's MRI shows no issues, and he'll avoid being sidelined for an extended period on the basketball court as December approaches.
