Golden State Warriors star guard Stephen Curry spoke highly of the current era of NBA players, suggesting that they are the most skilled players to ever play the game.
In an appearance on the Today show, Curry noted the rise in three-point shooting across the league has taken players to heights they’d otherwise would have never seen. Of course, Curry is perhaps the culprit of the three-point revolution, winning back-to-back MVP’s in 2015 and 2016, and leading the Warriors to three championships in four seasons in the late 2010s.
“I was told by a wise man when I was getting into the league, you want to leave the league in a better place than when you found it,” Curry said. “I think just the way that you see the skill-level right now, the way that the range has kind of taken over, guys shooting threes all over the court, but just from one through five all the way down the roster, I think this is the most skilled era of basketball history.”
“Whether that was young kids in the game seeing my generation, the way that I play and getting inspired by that, that for me is important and something that I don't take for granted,” Curry added.
Curry is still a top performer in the NBA
One of the league’s most influential players is still a premier talent in the NBA in 2025. Last season, he averaged 24.5 points per game, and knocked down 40 percent of his three-pointers, just as he normally does.
The Warriors enter next season as a potential contender in the Western Conference, and the team is gunning for a championship now while they still have Curry playing at a high level.
