Draymond Green and the Golden State Warriors know the score.
After losing 141-127 to the Toronto Raptors on Sunday night, the Warriors are bang average at 16-16. Golden State has one of the NBA's most decorated and seasoned rosters, with Green, Stephen Curry and Jimmy Butler leading the way.
But the Warriors' age and limited pathways to improvement (only two teams have less cap space) have left many with the impression that the franchise is simply playing out the string of the Curry era and that they will deal with the consequences somewhere down the line.

Green more or less has confirmed that this is the Warriors' thinking.
Speaking on The Draymond Green Show, the four-time NBA champion said his focus is on maximizing however much time is left on the clock for himself, for Curry and for head coach Steve Kerr as the holdovers from the Warriors' dynasty era.
"Dynasties don't last forever," Green said. "What you do is you try to prolong them as long as you can, you try to build on them as much as you can. But it's true.... Guess what? Steph Curry is in year 17. I'm in year 14. Klay Thompson, who is gone, would be in year 15. Steve Kerr is in his 12th year coaching. (General manager) Bob Myers is gone."
Draymond Green says it’s true the Warriors are a fading dynasty

“It’s true. Guess what, Steph is in year 17. I’m in year 14. Klay is in year 15. When you talk the dynasty… How long can we extend it and what more can we do? That’s the goal. That’s our mission”

The acknowledgment from a franchise legend that the Warriors are a fading dynasty may be as honest an assessment as could be made with respect to where Golden State is right now.
But to hear Green speak on it so candidly probably won't make Warriors fans feel any better about what is to come in the next few years.
