Draymond Green has built his career around being the heartbeat of the Golden State Warriors’ starting five. Now, off the court, he and his wife Hazel Renee are about to have a starting five of their own.
A full roster at home
Renee announced this week that she is pregnant with the couple’s fifth child. The Greens already have four children... Olive Jay, Draymond Jamal Jr., Cash, and Hunni. Baby No. 5 officially gives the family a lineup that could fill every spot on the basketball court.
Extra drive heading into the season
While Renee prepares for the newest addition, Green is deep into workouts ahead of the 2025-26 season. The 34-year-old forward averaged 9.0 points, 6.1 rebounds, 5.6 assists, 1.5 steals, and 1.0 blocks last year, finishing third in Defensive Player of the Year voting.
He recently linked up with Jimmy Butler in training sessions, declaring their goal was simple: “getting the championship back.” With his own starting five waiting at home, Green has even more reason to chase another ring.
The Warriors enter the 2025-26 NBA season with renewed urgency. After falling short in the second round last spring, Golden State’s veteran core with Steph Curry and Jimmy Butler knows the window for another championship is narrowing. Green, who finished third in Defensive Player of the Year voting last season, has emphasized that the team’s focus is on reclaiming the title, even training with Jimmy Butler over the summer to sharpen his edge.
