Draymond gives his bold thoughts on what is wrong with NBA free agency image

The NBA free agency landscape certainly doesn’t look like it used to. This offseason, there are no stars available as free agents, and the best players available on the unrestricted free agent market aren’t getting the offers they were hoping for. As a response to this shift in NBA free agency, Draymond Green blamed the new CBA for the players' issues.

“I’m sitting in my mancave having a conversation with my wife. Baffled at the fact that NBA free agency is over. Quite frankly it never really started. The level of anticipation leading up to July 1st were as exciting as the fireworks on the 4th. It was the excitement of the NBA Finals yet only a week after watching a team spray champagne and ride on floats.

One can only point to the “New CBA” and the 2nd apron(hard cap) for absolutely putting an end to Free Agency as we once knew it.

Sadly, I sit here and watch so many players overplay the market and not understand what they are up against with the new rules. Which leads me to trying to understand the unstaggering percentage of guys that has no idea of THE BUSINESS they are apart of. And I as a “VET” in this league watch players mismanage their careers and before they know it, look back like DAMN, where to next? I can go so far with this but I really don’t feel like typing it all right now.”

Green continued to say that he “should’ve been the Players Association president”.

He also singled out Jonathan Kuminga in his post. He let it be known that this rant wasn’t about Kuminga and that he expects Kuminga to “be great and make a bunch of money”.

For all the times Draymond is wrong, he does make a good point here. It seems like the new CBA rules are not allowing players to get their fair value on the market due to team building constraints put on teams by the 1st and 2nd apron.
