Pistons legend Andre Drummond chimes in on the infamous Maggette-Singler brawl image

Although they currently sit first place in the Eastern Conference standings, the Detroit Pistons went through some rough years following their championship winning team in 2004.

One of those years was the 2012-13 season, where Detroit finished 11th in the Eastern Conference with a 29-53 record.

Amid that season, there was plenty of drama, some that has just resurfaced recently. According to 11-year pro and former Detroit Pistons center Charlie Villanueva, there was a huge locker room fight that season.

On the "Pistons Talk" podcast, Villanueva tells the story of how Corey Maggette knocked out Kyler Singler in the locker room. Maggette was 33 years-old at the time, playing in his 14th season and first with the Pistons.

Singler on the other hand, was just a rookie at the time of the incident.

Following the scrum, Maggette left the Pistons and never suited up for NBA action ever again. As for Singler, he went on to play six seasons in the NBA between the Pistons and Oklahoma City Thunder.

That said, the story never released and Maggette's departure was thought to have occurred for other reasons.

Current NBA center and former Pistons teammate Andre Drummond took to X to corroborate the story commenting: "I was there for this! Easily the craziest thing I witnessed in my NBA career."

That was also Drummond's rookie season, having been taken ninth overall by Detroit in the 2012 NBA Draft after attending UConn.

Maggette currently serves as an analyst on the FanDuel Sports Network, although neither him nor Singler have publicly spoken about the altercation.
