There are few players as accomplished as Russell Westbrook who haven't won a championship.
Westbrook was just a game away from a WCF appearance with the Nuggets this season but lost in Game 7 to the Thunder.
Westbrook's chance at getting a coveted ring might be over after this recent major update on his contract.

Russell Westbrook contract update
NBA insider Marc Stein reported Friday that Westbrook is declining the player option he has on his contract for the 2025-26 season.
Westbrook will be an unrestricted free agent when free agency begins in a few weeks.
European basketball reporter Nemanja Žorič recently reported that Hapoel Tel Aviv had an offer for Westbrook on a contract "never seen before in European basketball."
There haven't been any indications that Westbrook would take this offer, but the possibility remains, especially now that he declined his player option.
It comes down to whether money is more important to Westbrook than chasing his first championship.
It's no secret that he's declined over the past few years in terms of production, but clearly can still play an important role in the NBA with his current skill set.
Some stars in recent years have elected to play outside the NBA after their prime, so we'll see if Westbrook joins that path to play overseas for the first time.
