The Kevin Durant trade sweepstakes is all the buzz around the NBA right now.
Recent intel states that Durant prefers to go to the Houston Rockets, Miami Heat, or San Antonio Spurs, with the latter being his most preferred destination.
Still, the Phoenix Suns could decide to send him to the team that puts together the best trade offer.
Well, here's another option: The Denver Nuggets.
Kevin O'Connor of Yahoo Sports compiled some other teams that could make a run at Durant, and he mentioned a package the Nuggets could put together to pair Durant with Nikola Jokic.
Here's the proposed offer from O'Connor: Michael Porter Jr., Peyton Watson, Julian Strawther, Hunter Tyson, and a 2031 first to Phoenix, Zeke Nnaji to a third team.
Now, why would Denver want Durant? Well, it's obvious, and here's what O'Connor said.
"Because he’s Kevin Durant. This deal guts the bench, but the upside is undeniable. KD, Nikola Jokić, Jamal Murray, Aaron Gordon, and Christian Braun could overwhelm anyone. They’d just have to have some solid plans to fill out the roster with league-minimum free agents."
Durant going to Denver, from a talent perspective, would be a terrific option and put him in a position to compete for another title.
Sure, it's a bit out-of-the-box, but a team with Jokic and Durant together would be an absolute nightmare to figure out how to stop.
