Peyton Watson is on an absolutely astounding run.

Since Nikola Jokic got hurt, the Denver Nuggets' young, athletic forward can't be stopped.

He put together his latest masterpiece on Thursday night:

  • 35 points
  • 4 blocks
  • 2 steals
  • 6 3-pointers made

It's an absurd stat line, one that only one other player has ever reached.

That other guy? Victor Wembanyama.

The stat, via Underdog NBA, makes it even more remarkable what Watson is doing.

The only player to have reached those numbers in a single game before Thursday night is the 7-foot-4 (7-foot-5?) Generational superstar that is unlike anyone we've ever seen before.

And then there's Watson, who only averaged a few points per game in his lone college season at UCLA and was the 30th overall pick in his draft who showed flashes but nothing like this before Jokic was hurt.

He's heading toward a big contract future now, a scenario which may make it tough for the Nuggets to keep him long term.

But Denver can worry about the future later.

For now, Watson is on their team, and he's on the run of his life, and all the Nuggets can do is sit back and watch him be historic.
