Nuggets' Nikola Jokic has the most hilarious answer to breaking Kareem Abdul-Jabbar's NBA record image

Nikola Jokic is one-of-one on the basketball court, yes, but the Denver Nuggets' superstar center is also his own man off the court.

He often proves that when he talks about his post-playing days, and Thursday night was a great opportunity for that.

Jokic had just broken Kareem Abdul-Jabbar's record for most assists by a center (5,660). The Nuggets beat the Orlando Magic in the process, so it was a solid night all around for Denver.

In his on-court postgame interview, Jokic was asked what the record means to him.

"I always say those things are something for after career," Jokic said. "I think the legacy for after career that I'm gonna look back and, on the porch drinking beer, and telling the lies to my kids."

This, of course, is the guy who wanted to go see his horses after winning the NBA Finals rather than take part in a parade.

For a gigantic, brilliant, all-time great, Jokic really does come across often feeling like an every-man.

It's part of what makes it so fun to watch him do what he does. He's just out there as if on a whim doing some of the most remarkable things any basketball player has ever done.

It draws a chuckle to think he'll have to lie to his kids about any aspect of his career. The true stories themselves are impressive enough, unless maybe Jokic is thinking of describing himself as a high-flying dunker.

The league won't ever have another guy quite like Jokic.
