The Denver Nuggets have flown under the radar to start the 2025-26 season.

With the Oklahoma City Thunder winning 23 of their first 24 regular-season games and poised to repeat as NBA champions, the Nuggets have been far from the main topic of discussion.

However, with the Nuggets’ 115-106 victory over the Charlotte Hornets on Sunday, the franchise is tied for second place in the Western Conference (17-6 record) and should be regarded as an early-season contender.

Not only are the Nuggets playing up to their potential thus far, but they’re also making NBA history (involving their star center Nikola Jokic) that's never been done before in the NBA.

“The Nuggets have had three different players with a 50-point game on 75% shooting this season (Aaron Gordon, Nikola Jokic, Jamal Murray),” OptaStats revealed on X/Twitter after Murray's 52-point barrage against the Indiana Pacers last Wednesday.

“No other team in NBA history has had more than one player do that in a season.”

With Jokic doing a little bit of everything for the Nuggets and routinely making superhuman contributions, it’s safe to predict the three-time MVP will be a part of another historic feat at some point this season.

Without Jokic, it’s challenging to envision the Nuggets capturing a championship in 2023 or being among the premier Western Conference squads year in and year out.

Simply put, this is only the beginning for Jokic, who’s already made history several times this season.
