The irony is clear.
The Denver Nuggets are taking on the Philadelphia 76ers and Joel Embiid on Monday night. And it's Embiid with the more positive injury report diagnosis than basically the entire Nuggets roster.
Denver has listed eight players as out.
Nikola Jokic is no surprise, which is too bad, because Jokic-Embiid matchups are great.
But the Denver roster will be incredibly shorthanded on Monday night.
Denver Nuggets injury report
The Nuggets have listed eight players as out, noted here in alphabetical order by last name:
- Tamar Bates (left foot surgery)
- Christian Braun (left ankle sprain)
- Aaron Gordon (right hamstring strain)
- Tim Hardaway Jr. (Illness management)
- Cameron Johnson (right knee bone bruise)
- Nikola Jokic (left knee bone bruise)
- Jamal Murray (left ankle sprain)
- Jonas Valanciunas (right calf strain)
This could mean big minutes at guard for Jalen Pickett and Bruce Brown.
Peyton Watson will get a lot of shots in the frontcourt. Spencer Jones will get those minutes, too.
Julian Strawther should see time on the wing.
Inside, it'll likely be DaRon Holmes and Zeke Nnaji doing the most work.
Is Joel Embiid playing tonight?
Embiid is supposed to be available for the 76ers.
He's listed as probable with left knee injury management and right ankle soreness.
The 76ers will be without Kelly Oubre Jr. And Trendon Watford due to injury.
