When Luka Dončić was drafted by the Dallas Mavericks in 2018, they had no idea the superstar they would be getting.

Now, he and Nikola Jokić are two of the best international players to ever play in the NBA.

Coincidentally, the Denver Nuggets just signed one of Dončić’s former teammates, and Maxwell Ogden of Fansided believes he could be criminally underrated heading into next season.

“(Kessler) Edwards appeared in just 12 of the Dallas Mavericks' first 42 games, generally receiving opportunities in the closing moments of decided outings. He turned heads in limited minutes toward the end of January, however, and began to see an uptick in playing time from there,” Ogden said Thursday.

“If Edwards is up to the task, he could realistically carve out a steady role at the end of the rotation and work his way into more minutes from there.”

Kessler Edwards started 18 games last season for the Mavericks at just 24 years old, but he may not be known by many fans.

Although he has not been able to carve out real minutes on each of his teams, he took Dallas’ injuries as an opportunity to show out, and he did.

He was a high-energy wing who played some center for the Mavericks.

When he lines up on the same team as Jokić, it may just take timely cuts and great point of attack defense for him to make an impact.

There will be a lot of pressure on Edwards to perform, with the hopes that his Exhibit 10 contract is converted to a standard contract based on his play with the team.
